Help a single father find a home for his family, after a fire
Campaign Description

Stanley Young is an unemployed construction worker and single father. Two weeks ago, a fire destroyed his home. His family is stuck in a hotel, but time is running out. I could barely watch his tragic story on the news... here's the clip: -- they will be kicked out by August 13th if we don't do something to help now.

I am also a single father, and we don't get enough credit in this country. I'm committed to helping Stanley and his eight (yes 8!) kids. Moreover, I believe and hope that we should all, as a community, come together to help our fellow American men and women when they need us in desperate situations like this. See if you can't find a few dollars to help the Youngs get back on their feet with me. We need to raise enough to extend their stay, and maybe even afford a down payment on a new house or something.

This is real. It is me. I'm putting in $5,000 myself. Never done something like this, but I have faith that our American community can pull together a miracle for this strong family who needs our help right now. We've already made our first, $20,000 goal, and I've put in another $5,000 on top.

Thanks and God bless.

Update: With our success in just the first few hours of our campaign, countless press outlets have been kind enough to cover this:

- ABC News:

- XXL Mag:

- CBS Local:

- Hip Hop DX:

Nasir (Nas) JonesAs a man I am proud & as a community we should be inspired. We raised just under $65,000 for Stanley Young. He and his family will remember this gesture for the rest of their lives. We said "never stop, never settle", and that's what we did. Our community has proven that by channeling small acts of kindness through a site like Crowdtilt, we can come together to help those who need us. Our campaign is being watched around the globe and mentioned in everything from XXL Mag to the Washington Post... I'm just proud to be a part of it.

We have been speaking with Mr. Young, and are planning to get him in the home he wants to be in.

Most of all, thank YOU for the love and support you have shown here. The happy ending we created for the Young's can be the beginning of something bigger for our communities, and for single parents down on their luck all across the country.

Thank you all and god bless. I will keep you updated when the story progresses. -Nas

Nasir (Nas) JonesNever Stop, Never Settle. I live by that motto. We've done a lot for Stanley and his 8 kids in the last few hours, but I know this is just the beginning of the incredible generosity of our community. So I've raised our goal to $50,000, to give an even larger gift for the Youngs to hopefully find a more permanent home instead of a temporary one.

With the amazing success so far, the whole world is watching us right now. Here are a few of the many press mentions sent to us from today:

I'm proud, but still: Never Stop, Never Settle. Let's keep going STRONG and spread the word.

Nasir (Nas) JonesOur campaign just tilted and hit $20,000! I'm so proud of our community. Thank y'all so much for your empathy and support for Stanley and his family. As a unit we are unstoppable… we're making miracles with your help.

I know this is just one family out of millions, and we aren't solving a global problem. But I believe that a happy ending to a story like this can be the beginning of something bigger for our communities. Everyone, if they can, should lend a hand to our fellow man in their times of need. We've all been truly blessed, and the least we can do is to pass those blessings forward.

Let's keep going! We can take this another step further. We've been directly in touch with Stanley and all the funds will go straight to him, plus my personal contribution (added the additional promised $5,000). I would deeply appreciate any help with a contribution or spreading the word. Thank you all. -Nas
